The Round of 16

Now we're talking. This is what it's all about. Single elimination football. The World Cup's Round of 16.

The big matches of note this weekend:

Mexico v. Argentina, today. My pick: Argentina of course.

England v. Ecuador, tomorrow morning. This could be mighty interesting, considering the profound pressure Team England is under and the surge in mojo Ecuador's got. For England to prevail they're going to need legendary games from somebody. Rooney? Gerrard? Walcott?

Netherlands v. Portugal, tomorrow afternoon. Two perfectly matched teams right down the line. A potential classic.
