The Album of the Summer Today

Last year's sneak sensation was the Gorillaz "Feel Good Inc.": funky, heavy, hypnotic, and sonically precise and seductive. It was everywhere last year, and with good reason. This year's song of the summer is "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley, and the album from which it comes, St. Elsewhere is the album of the summer. Seriously. Imagine Al Green (before he became the Reverend Al Green) and his producer on 22nd Century acid and using 21st century technology and old school ethos (when hip hop mattered, when hip hop was actual art) to create bonafide soul music. The most modern, challenging and exciting R&B you will hear this year or anytime soon.
