Black Mountain's new disc In The Future is face meltingly brilliant, a psychedelic prog rock masterpiece the likes of which we haven't seen in AGES. Sabbath flavoured guitars over early Floyd synths rocking under a dude who sings like Neil Young and vocalist Amy Webber, who sings like Sandy Denny on Zepp's "Battle of Evermore." It's dark, it's light, it's tight at times and a total jam out at others, classic, modern.... it's just awesome. God bless Canada (Vancouver in particular) for gifting us with such an amazing band.
This is truly the first must have album of 2008. I can't wait to listen to it around a bonfire this summer.
